Species ID & Ecology Field Trip

Well done to the eco/ID class on their field trip today. After extensive sampling of two wetlands and bushland including the Dudley Bluff heath and slopes of the Redhead Lagoon, we came to two obvious conclusions;

  • Small ants don’t like honey
  • Big ants don’t like catfood

We did collect some wonderful ants, but only by picking them up! Sadly, the wetland sampling yield was small this year with no volvox (sorry Donna) and a diminished macro-invertebrate biodiversity. At least the day itself was perfect!
